Dark Hickory Shaker
A dark walnut-toned finish over solid hickory frames, built with dovetail drawers and soft-close hardware.
Doors and drawer fronts are solid hickory frame with an MDF center panel and wood veneer, finished in a dark stain that lets the hickory's natural grain, knots, and mineral streaks show through. Cabinet boxes are 1/2" birch plywood with color-matched exteriors and a solid Baltic birch face frame, so no particle board is used anywhere in the construction.
Drawer boxes are 5/8" hardwood with true dovetail joinery and hickory fronts, riding on soft-close, full-extension undermount glides. Doors use squared-edge shaker styling with a full overlay and 6-way adjustable concealed soft-close hinges, and because hickory is a naturally variable hardwood, expect knots and grain shifts from door to door as part of the finish, not a flaw in it.

Solid Hickory Doors
Door and drawer fronts use a solid hickory frame around an MDF center panel with matching veneer, finished dark to bring out the wood's natural contrast.
Hickory's grain and occasional knots are left visible rather than filled or hidden, so each door reads as real wood, not a uniform print.
Dovetail Drawer Boxes
Drawer boxes are built from 5/8" hardwood with dovetail joinery at the corners and a 3/8" birch plywood bottom.
Dovetails distribute drawer stress across interlocking joints instead of relying on staples or glue alone, so the box holds up under repeated use and load.
Soft-Close Hardware Throughout
Concealed 6-way adjustable hinges on the doors and undermount full-extension glides on the drawers both close quietly under their own soft-close mechanism.
The 6-way adjustment lets doors be fine-tuned after install for a consistent, even reveal across the run of cabinets.
Plywood Box Construction
Cabinet boxes are 1/2" birch plywood with a solid Baltic birch face frame and a UV-coated birch veneer interior.
Plywood construction resists the swelling and screw-stripping that particle board is prone to, particularly at hinge and glide mounting points.
